Tishanna Cameron
Tishanna iCameron s currently in her final year of studies at York University where she is working towards her BA in Sociology.
She first enrolled in ballet at the age of 7 with Alice Darling School of Dance. By age 8 she joined the Elite Dance and Company where she learned tap, lyrical, jazz and Afro-Caribbean dance styles among others.
After 12 years of commitment, Tishanna now acts in the capacity as on-call assistant teacher and choreographer at the Elite Dance and Company. Some of her achievements include Best Female Dancer and Most Promising Dancer. Tishanna’s first duet choreography won her the Best Duet title at the Junior Folklore Dance Festival.
Additionally, she has won various national level dance scholarships and has enjoyed performing opportunities in Canada, the USA and the Caribbean. Tishanna danced in Dance Caribe’s ‘Anasi Story 2011’, ‘Retrospection...Then and Now 2014’ during their 25th Anniversary celebration and is happy to be a supporting dancer in ‘From Roots to Branches 2016’.
Dance Caribe has helped her create lasting memories. Since this is her first trip to Trinidad and Tobago, Tishanna plans to enjoy everything the island has to offer.
